BlogpostWith Google last updating PageRank a year ago, and future updates unlikely, many of you have asked for additional metrics to help filter available link inventory. Last week we added Majestic’s Trust Flow and Citation Flow metrics, along with their backlink counts to our link tables.
Citation Flow is calculated based on the quantity of sites linking to yours, whereas Trust Flow estimates the trustworthiness of the same links. Both metrics have values ranging from 0 to 100.
While the individual metrics have their own purpose, the ratio of Trust Flow to Citation Flow gives a clearer picture. While a ratio of 1 or better is desirable the average ratio for most sites is more like 2:1. More trustworthy and authoritative sites will have higher ratios. For example Wikipedia.com has a Trust Flow of 36 and a Citation Flow of 38 for an almost 1:1 ratio.
